The Director general of the Ondo state football agency Mr Akinsola Akinbobola has reacted to the press release containing the sack of the entire technical crew of the state owned football teams, sunshine stars and sunshine queens football team.
Few days ago,the news broke that ODSFA would no longer require the services of the technical crew including the ball boys of the teams ahead of next league season.
Speaking www.blitziksports.com Mr Akinbobola said the move was to reposition the team, and make it more compact for better performance in the next football season.
Mr Akinbobola also said the release was not strange as the vision and target of the state government was to make the teams (sunshine stars and sunshine queens) better as pronounced by the state deputy governor Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa long ago.
Mr Akinbobola, a former Nigeria premier league board member added that the state owned teams would henceforth function in a more professional manner.
Sunshine stars in the past battled many challenges including administrative, financial and other technical issues which led to the disengagement and replacement of coaches, including Mr Gbenga Ogunbote head of the football agency.
Others are owing of players wages and struggles to escape relegation from the just concluded NPFL season.
However a clause was included in the letter that anyone who is interested in occupying his position with the football agency should reapply.
