Rivers State Executive Governor, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has rewarded players and officials of Rivers United with a sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) each for emerging winners in the concluded NPFL season and promised to double the amount if the team qualify to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
At a grand reception ceremony at Government House, Port Harcourt, Wike also conferred on each member of the team the Governors Medal Service Award (GMSA).
To ensure that the team win the continental trophy next year, Governor Wike approved an European pre season camping for Rivers United, mentioning specifically Madrid, Spain as their camping site.
