Team Ondo at the ongoing 21st national sports festival in Asaba Delta state have so far gathered 28 medals as at the time of this report.

The duo of Joshua Oladiran and Amadi Umeh won Gold in Table Tennis men’s doubles.

While Emiloju Sunday and Ojo Oluwaseun also grabbed Gold in 200k 2- men’s Canoeing event.

Also in table tennis Wale Fagbamila, Sunday Owaseye won silver in men’s table tennis singles and Weightlifting 55kg, while Adijat Azeez, Kafayat Azeez , Ibukun Joshua grabbed bronze medals in Judo -70 kg ,52kg and -60 kg respectively.

In total Ondo State has now recorded three Gold, 10silver and 15 bronze making total of 28 medals.

Speaking with journalists National coach and the Ondo state table tennis Association head coach, Dotun Omoniyi, expressed joy for maintaining his record of winning gold at the national sports festival.

Coach Omoniyi said his players lost men’s team final to Delta and had to settle for silver.

More medals are up for grab for team Ondo as, Timilehin Ijalade qualified for final in Wrestling 57kg category, while Favour Bankole battle for bronze medal in 59kg as she lost her bout in quarter final.
