Sunshine Angels Basketball club of Ondo state head coach Sola Aluko has commended the Nigeria basketball Federation for the smooth running of the on going Qualifier in Benin.
Coach Aluko said the competition has bought relief and joy to top female players in the country who have been out of action for four years.
“We are excited that the zenith Basketball League is back and all the games have been a thriller .We hope to see more competitions for female basketball,the federation has done well in making it open for teams to participate.
The Sunshine gaffer enjoined the NBFF to return the competition to it’s 10 team format.
“I would love to see the round robin format where each team will played 9 games return.
Aluko is optimistic that Sunshine Angels will qualify for the Final.
“Our target is to qualify for the main final,and go back to Akure to strengthen the team ahead of the final .We have a young squad but I believe we are up to the task.
He wants to see more support from the zenith Bank,sponsors of the competition.
“Zenith bank are doing well but I still being they can do better by providing incentives for our girls to enable them stay home rather than going overseas.
Zenith can open bank account for our players and coaches in the competition to access and provide more incentives, especially souvenirs.
