NSF 2020:Your statement is unprofessional, Ondo sports commissioner tells Purity Akuh

Ondo State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mr Dotun Owanikin has described the statement credited to the head coach of the state wrestling association, Mr Purity Akuh saying him and other wrestlers will sacrifice the game for other games at the upcoming national sports festival in Benin Edo state as unprofessional.

The commissioner stated this in an interview with BLITZIK SPORTS in his office in Akure.

While lamenting the spreading of the statement across various media platform,the sports commissioner said the state acknowledge their efforts and sacrifices and is currently working on a special recognition for the athletes and other deserving athletes

He noted that the state government has admitted that the athletes deserve more welfare for their superb outing at national and international competitions

He however called on the Ondo state wrestlers and thier coaches to have a second thought and implication of thier threath and prepare to compete for the state that gave them the platform to stardom

Reacting to the preparation for the upcoming national sports festival the sports commissioner said another trial will be conducted for athletes for the event and the issues of allowances,welfare and other logistics has been graciously approved by the state governor Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for athletes that will be representing the state.
