Reigning Champion of the Zenith Bank Women Basketball League Air Warriors basketball club of Abuja on Wednesday handed Nigeria Customs basketball club of Abuja it’s first loss of the season with a 42-41 points defeat in the final 4 of the Zenith Bank Women Basketball League at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos.
The 2019 Champion of the Nigeria women basketball league won the first two quarters by 14-13 and 10-06 to go into the locker room with a 5-point advantage (24-19) Customs came into the third quarter with more zeal to surprise bookmakers winning the period by 12-06 but it was Air Warriors who had the last laugh as the Coach Samson Sotiminu tutored Air Warriors showed the warrior in them with a 12-10 points victory to register her first win of the final 4 after going down to MFM of Lagos 75-48 points on Tuesday.
Air Warriors will look to fulfill her dream of a continental ticket when it files out against Bayelsa in the last game of the 4-team final at 3pm local time.
In the other game of Day-2 MFM of Lagos maintained her winning streak with a 59-54 points victory over Bayelsa.
