Former Nigerian international, Alloy Agu has advised the Super Eagles to put behind the 1-1 draw against Lesotho and focus on the Zimbabwe’s game slated for Sunday in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The game which was played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo saw the visitors draw first blood through Motlomelo Mkhawanazi in the 56th minute off a corner.
Semi Ajayi in the 67th minute came to Nigeria’s rescue with a fine header after being left unmarked in the box.
However, reacting to the result, Alloy Agu told journalists that Nigeria must buckle up and focus on their next game against Zimbabwe.
“The qualifiers have just started and it will be too early to predict what will happen until the end of the qualifying games. So anything can happen in the game of football. That shows that football has gone beyond what it use to be before.
“This simply means that the team must put this result behind them and focus on the next game against Zimbabwe, by coming out with the needed victory and we are back on track.”
