Kwara Shines At 5th Expro Squash Tournament As Gov’ Abdulrazak Commits To Boosting Sports Development

Kwara state governor Mallam Abudlrahman Abdulrazak says his administration will continue to invest massively in sports infrastructure to assist coaches in discovering talents and also boast the state economy.

Governor Abdulrazak stated this while speaking at the final of the three days 5th expro squash tournament in Ilorin the Kwara state capital.

The governor who was represented by the executive chairman of the kwara state sports commission Mallam Bola Mogaji noted that his vision was to make the state a home for champions with the construction and upgrading of modern sports centers.

The governor commended organisers of 5th expro squash tournament for their investment in the game and urged others to emulate their good deeds

Earlier in her address, chairman Expro squash player Miss Laurel Ojo appreciated governor Abdulrazak for fulfilling his promise of hosting the game,the Kwara sports commission,fellow members and others who supported the event stressing that the tournament would give birth to new sets of squash champions in Nigeria.

Also speaking in an interview two board members of the Nigeria squash federation and former national players Mr Yusuf Durosinlorun and Mr Jonah Attah who doubled as the tournament technical director expressed satisfaction with the tournament with an assurance that Nigeria will produce talents and players in squash for the 2028 Olympics coming up in Los Angeles.

According to Mr Jonah Attah over 105 children with coaches and officials from states like Lagos, Ogun,Oyo,Ondo,Edo, Abuja,Bayelsa,Akwa Ibom,Cross Rivers,host Kwara among others participated successfully in the competition.

However,the tournament ended with the dissolution of the executives of Expro at the expiration of their tenure which a new caretaker committee would be inaugurated by the electoral chairman.
