AHMED MUSA: Super Eagles Most Capped Player Steals Show Against Sunshine Stars

Kano Pillars defeated Sunshine Stars 2-0 at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, in Katsina in a match-day 5 game of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa getting a brace

Sunshine Stars’ goalkeeper, Emmanuel Ofori denied Ahmed Musa a hat-trick by saving a well-taken penalty from Musa, well into the second half.

Moments before, defender Ogechukwu Ogbu received a straight red card for stopping a goal-bound lob from Musa with his hand.

In his post-match interview, Sunshine Stars Technical Adviser, Boboye said his side paid the price for not being clinical in front of goal, lamenting that they squandered many chances.

According to him, “It was a bad game for us. We played very well, but the result did not show how we performed.

“We wasted many goal-scoring chances. If we had converted our chances, we would have been 4 goals up in the first half.

“When you fail to convert your chances, you get punished. Our opponents took theirs and made good use of them.

“We will keep working hard to ensure we win our next game against Rangers International,” he said.

Introduction of Promise Awosanmi, Stephen Chukwude to replace Saidu Salisu and Chinedu Nwosu were not enough to salvage at least a point.

The result remained the same despite Ismail Ayodele and Adewale Yusuf stepping into the fray.

Sunshine Stars are currently 8th on the log with seven points and next host Rangers International at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.
