After Our Training, Pro Wrestling Will Thrive In West Africa” – Golden Boy Jim McDowell


Arrangements have been concluded for the holding of the much publicized professional wrestling training for West African athletes in Lome, the Togolese Capital.

The training programme slated for Friday March 1st to Sunday March 3rd, 2024 is being organised by the Golden Wrestling Federacy (GWF) based in Florida, United States of America in conjunction with Togo Catch and Pro- Wrestling Africa PWA (African Confederation De Catch) and will take place at the Ministry of Sports, Lome Togo.

According to the Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa (PWA), Olusesan Olukoya, the training which will be handled by renowned world wrestler/ Dentist, “Golden Boy” Jim McDowell and Damien Wayne Kostyal is aimed at equipping athletes from the West Coast of Africa with the most modern techniques of the mats man game as well as make the game have a foothold in West African sub-region.

The timely training is the first of its kind in West Africa and the good thing is that it will be handled by two World renowned Champions and wrestlers of appreciable reputes from the USA coming to instill Championship skills into African athletes.

“I’m optimistic that at the end of the three day training, both old and new wresters will be well equipped to make impact in the sport. This is a great program to make new friends while achieving physical fitness, building confidence while also establishing leadership qualities, and learning the value of teamwork. Many of our participants would grow by leaps and bounds as performers in the ring and would end up becoming world champions with time” explained the ‘’Golden Boy’’ Dr. Jim McDowell.

On the readiness to host the training, Habib Adam the President of the Togo Catch who has received approval from the Togo Sports Ministry said his team members are still working to make the timely training a memorable one. “We have lots of professional lovers in Togo and this training will herald our pro wrestling Federation and upcoming championships” he emphasized.

It’s equally important to state that the training programme will also be used to formally introduce professional wrestling in Togo and other West African countries that are yet to have professional wrestling federations and kudos must go to Jim McDowell, a great actor and film producer, a talented wrestler, a Dentist and the President of the Golden Wrestling Federacy for initiating the training programme and also appreciations to Olusesan Olukoya, secretary General at the Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) and also the CEO/ Executive Director at the Pro Wrestling Afrik Promotions Ltd, a registered Professional Wrestling outfit in Nigeria.
