All is set for the first edition of Yomi Koledoye foundation Christmas 3×3 basketball challenge at the indoor hall of the Akure sports complex.
According to the organisers,the two days basketball challenge was carefully designed to nurture and encourage basketball players in Ondo state.
Speaking ahead of the game, head coach Ondo state basketball association Sola Aluko while appreciating the organiser said the stage is set for basketball players in the state to compete, display their skills among various teams for honor.
Coach Aluko further stated that the 3×3 basketball challenge has been registered on FIBA website and twelve teams have been successfully registered for the games from Ondo state.
Coach Aluko said the association has done well in training players from the state on a daily basis stressing that such challenge would help them to jump on the court and put to work the skills, discipline, endurance and other technical techniques they learnt over years.
The team’s are Priston Boom, Tigers, Knight,Ondo Raiders, Bosco, Ballers, Ondo Kings, Eagles, Phoenix, Griffins, Hawks and Net Rippers.
Also speaking, Coach Fisayo Bello stated that aside other side attractions such as dunk contest, shooting contest and special recognition of veterans, cash rewards and other consolation prizes will be awarded to first, second and third position.
Coach Bello who applauded Mr Yomi Koledoye and his foundation for keeping young basketball players busy, further stated that the challenge which is the first edition will be for male basketball players alone while subsequent edition will have the male and female teams in action.
The two days Christmas 3×3 basketball challenge will dunk off on 22nd(today)-23rd December 2023.
