Barack Eagles FC of Akure and Zion Warriors of Ondo have set up what will be an epic final for the first edition of the Bet9ja Ondo State Football League.
Barrack Eagles had played 1-1 draw with Sarajoe FC in the regulation time of the first semi final encounter decided at Ondo State Sports complex, Akure on Thursday.
Barrack Eagles broke the deadlock in the 48th minutes as Fidelis Jeremiah fire a shot to the top corner of the net to give his team the lead .
Seven minutes later, Sarajoe FC got a leveller through Monday Glory who converted from spot after penalty was awarded against Barrack Eagles.
Eagles later defeated Sarajoe FC 4 – 2 in the penalty shootout of the encounter to qualify for the final.
In the second encounter of the day between Zion Warriors of Ondo, in a match that failed to produce any goal in the regulation time against Seeway FC of Ayeka,saw them the Ondo side winning 4-3 on penalties in the keenly contested encounter.
Seeway will clash with Sarajoe FC in the battle for third place encounter of the competition.
In a chat with newsmen, Zion Warriors FC coach, Oseni Rafiu, thanked God for the success of his side, saying,”both teams played good football.”
“Despite the fact that we won the match, we are going back to drawing board to work on some area we are not doing well, we will try all we could to ensure the team play well and win the final” he said.
Barrack Eagles coach Damilola Fadeyi, commended his side for winning the match despite little itches they encountered while coming to honour the match.
“We are going to come out better in the final and prove to football loving people of the state that we are the best football team in Ondo State,” he said
The football fiesta had seventy participants with teams spread across the three senatorial districts.
