Sunshine Queens FC Head coach, Oladimeji Abimbola has described his team’s Championship play-offs training tour as an eye -opener.
Abimbola said the training tour has revealed the team’s strength, weakness and treats, thanking the management of the club for approving the pre- championship play-offs.
The Head coach added that they are going to take advantage of the remaining days to the championship play-offs to make necessary corrections observed during the tour.
He stated this after his side wrapped up their championship play-offs training tour at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne ,Ogun State on Saturday.
He averred that the training tour was not about winning, but based on critical assessment of the players movement, fitness and reactions.
He said the players played three solid matches without resting with potential opponents and drew one, won one and loss in the final match.
According to him, “we give equal opportunity to all the players to display what we have been impacting on them. I must confess, the tour has revealed many things about the team and individual players”.
“As we are going back to Akure, we are going to work immidiately and start making necessary amendment on the areas we are not doing well before we go for the championship proper.”
“The players played against teams that are training on the pitch, Lakeside are training here day and night and we held them to a 1-1 draw after about four hours drive, Danas FC are also training on the same pitch and we also defeated them 3-0, we lost 1-2 to Kazeem Eletu FC in last match.
“I thank the commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa for his vision to approve what I described as an eye – opener and also to enable us familiarize with the pitch and the environment”.
“Our team is good to go for the championship, with God on our side, we will get the job done”, he assured.
