Nigeria National League, Ekiti United has been hit with mass exodus of players if reports reaching FreekickNaija.com.ng is to be believed
The Oluyemi Kayode Stadium gaint finished second in the Southern Conference group B1 table with 33 points and also featured in the Super 8 play offs for the first time in the club history.
Sources close to the club confirmed to FreeKicknaija.com.ng in Ado-Ekiti that majority of the players that featured for the team last season will not return owing to poor management style.
“Aside from the players dropped few weeks ago by the management of the team, 90 percent of the retained players may likely not return for obvious reasons,” said one of the sources.
“Most of the players complained about their welfare package and how they were shortchanged by the handlers of the team.
The source further stated that players complained that a lot of things are wrong with the club because those saddled with the running of the club aren’t doing the needful.
“Some of the players told me most of this people saddled with the responsibility of managing Ekiti United doesn’t have the managerial skills to thinker the club.
“It was our (players) personal effort and left for the management poor handling of the club, they wouldn’t have finished second and also featured at the NNL Super 8 play off in Enugu.
“We only played because of our career and not what the management did for us to get to that stage,” the Source maintained.
