I’m Quiting Katsina United For Security Reason

Coach Abdulahi Bala of Katsina United says he’s quiting his position as the head of coach of the team with immediate effect.

Coach Bala broke the news while speaking with journalists shortly after his team lost 1-0 to Sunshine Stars football club of Ondo in one of the match day 25 of the Nigeria Premier Football League at the Akure sports complex.

The former Niger tornadoes manager manager while lamenting the hostile environment as one of the reasons for his resignation accused the fans and management for expecting too much while not doing enough to maintain the team.

Coach Bala further said since taking over the team in December 2023 he had guided the team to an appreciable height not loosing seven of its matches but after the draw at home the threat was unbearable for him.

When asked what his next decision would be, coach Bala said he was taking a time off football for now to return when a better offer shows up.

Reacting to the game, Coach Bala praised both teams describing the officiating as perfect and his team was just unlucky.

Meanwhile,sunshine stars manager Kennedy Boboye while reacting to the home victory said his team made up their mind to move up the ladder of the NPFL after 5-1 defeat to Kano pillars in Kano.

Coach Boboye said though some of the players are observing Ramadan, certain considerations and tactics have been implored to fortified the team and implement game plans for victory.
