Kidnappers Release Super Eagles Midfielder After 4 Days in Captivity

Enyimba International midfielder, Dayo Ojo, has regained his freedom from the den of kidnappers after four days in captivity.

The Two-time CAF Champions League champions, Enyimba International have confirmed his release.

The Super Eagles B team midfielder was kidnapped on Sunday evening on his way to his base Akure, Ondo State from Abia State after the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) embarked on break due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Ojo was kidnapped alongside Abia Comets player Benjamin Iluyomade while another Enyimba player, Emmanuel James escaped the kidnapping.

Enyimba media on Wednesday night confirmed the release of Ojo and Iluyomade via their official Twitter account.

It was learnt that the kidnappers demanded for Twenty million naira (N20 million) as ransom but the club could not confirm the amount paid as ransom before he was release.
