Nigeria is not doing enough for golf -Yusuf

The federal government have been urged to give attention to all sports and encourage private individuals in all ways to tap into the numerous advantages of sports in Nigeria.

A professional golf player Mr TOPA YUSUF stated this during a one day golf retreat organised by the sports writer association of Nigeria Ondo state chapter at the smokin hills golf resort Ilara-Mokin Ondo state.

Mr Yusuf who is also the resort guide said managing private sports business could be tasking but with some level of encouragement by government and fair treatment individual can invest in games like golf which he said has more economic advantages.

Chairman SWAN Ondo state chapter Mr Wahab Bankole said the essence of the retreat was to help improve the knowledge of sports writers in the rudiment of GOLF and be more proficient on the job.

Men of the pen profession were however taken round the beautiful gulf land scape to get a feel of how the game is being played.

Mr Tops Yusuf said the three billion naira private owned gulf resort was built by an Ondo state born business man Michael Ade Ojo also known as Elizade with the help of forty americans who eventually named the resort SMOKIN HILLS.

Some secondary school children sports masters and members of ONDO SWAN participated in the retreat.
