Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn in Group C of the second round African qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup.
The event took place on Tuesday January 21, at the Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo, Egypt.
14 first-round winners and the 26 highest-ranked African nations in the FIFA World Cup Ranking were drawn into 10 groups of 4 teams each.
Nigeria will battle Cape Verde, Central Africa Republic and Liberia in Group C while Group A has Algeria, Burkina Faso, Niger and Djibouti.
Group B has Tunisia, Zambia, Mauritania and Equatorial Guinea while Cameroon, Malawi, Cote D’Ivoire and Mozambique will trade tackles in Group D.
Mali, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda are in Group E while Egypt, Gabon, Libya and Angola were drawn in Group F.
Ghana, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and South Africa will fight for qualification in Group G while Group H hosts Senegal, Togo, Congo and Namibia.
Morocco, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Sudan will play in Group I while
Group J is made up of Congo DR, Benin Republic, Tanzania and Madagascar.
The second round of the competition kicks off in October 2020 with teams playing each other in a home and away mini-league format. The ten group winners will progress to the third and final round which will feature five two-legged play-off ties.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will hold in Qatar .
