Ondo State Rope Skippers, Philip Solomon, Gbenga Ezekiel, Dunsin Dubem and Kenneth Godswill Chidera will today go all out to dislodge Guinness World record holders from Japan, India,United Kingdom and Philippines in rope skipping competition.
The Rope skippers representing Nigeria have all expressed their readiness to shatter Guinness world Records in different events.
Coach Chibuisi Ukandu of the Nigeria Rope Skipping Federation in a chat with Sporting Hope said the skippers are in high spirits to claim the title for the country.
He added that the skippers are well prepared for the contest, saying he is optimistic the Nigerian skippers will triumph.
Ukandu disclosed that Philip Solomon who is the current Guinness World Record Holder in Most Skips on one leg in 30 Seconds will challenge Megumi Suzuki of Japan in the Most Skips in 30 Seconds, adding that Suzuki has been holding the record for 13 years unbeaten.
He added that Philip will also challenge Himanshu Prajapathi of India in both Most Crossover Skips on One Leg in 30 Seconds Blindfolded and Most Cris-cross Skips on One Leg in 30 Seconds.
According to him, “Gbenga Ezekiel who holds the Guinness World Record Holder in Most Skips on One Leg in One Minute will challenge Himanshu Prajapathi of India in Most Double Under Skips on One Leg in One Minute.
“Ezekiel will also be the first Nigeria and African Rope Skipper to break his own record as he mounts the stage to break his own Guinness World Record in Most Skips on One Leg in One Minute.”
“He will be waiting for Guinness World Record clearance to challenge Peter Thompson of the United Kingdom in Most Consecutive Double Under Crossover.”
“Also, Dunsin Dubem will take on Ryan Eedion ONG Alonzo of the Philippines on Most Double Under Crossover in 30 Seconds to claim his first Guinness World Record.”
While the Nigeria rope skipping federation is still waiting for clearance from Guinness World Record over
Contest with the record holder in Most double under Crossover in one minute, Peter Thompson from United Kingdom.
