The Chairman of Nigeria Premier Football League , NPFL Mr Gbenga Elegbeleye says efforts towards the overall improvement of the league are already in place.
Mr Elegbeleye made this known during a roundtable discussion with reporters in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The former director general national sports commission gave an assurance that the League organisers would not compromise standard and ensured that the rules were adhered to without favouritism.
The former house of Representatives member announced that From the beginning of next season there would be a review of players salaries.
He pointed out that there must be principle of checks and balances to grow the League saying that the League management would continue its zero tolerance for thuggery and violence at the match venues.
He also hinted that NPFL had started with communication gadgets which he said was the first step before using Video Assistant Referee (VAR) with ongoing plans to train young referees on how to use (VAR) affirming that all Nigerian referees were higher institutions graduates.
While fielding questions on other marketing strategies and wider broadcast of the league,Mr Elegbeleye disclosed that arrangements had been concluded to partner national media houses including NTA and FRCN for a wider broadcast of matches and commentary.#
