Heartland FC has announced the appointment of former Akwa United and Sunshine Stars manager Kennedy Boboye as their new manager. Boboye, who was appointed on a one-year contract with an option of renewal, replaced Christian Obi whose campaign this season has been below standard.
A club statement was shared on the club’s official website
“We are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with two-time NPFL winning coach Kennedy Boboye
He takes charge of the club’s technical team with immediate effect on a 1-year deal with an option of a renewal.”
Heartland, who returned to the top-flight league after facing relegation in 2021-22 remains the only side yet to record a win this season after 9 games. They currently sit at the bottom of the league with 6 points.
Kennedy Boboye guided Akwa United to their first league title in the 2019-20 season. Being a renowned face in the torch line of the NPFL, Boboye has also coached, Plateau United and Sunshine Stars
