The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ondo State chapter has congratulated players and officials of Sunshine Stars Football Club, Akure on another successful campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Sports Writers saluted the soccer loving Governor of the State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the management of Ondo State Football Agency for ensuring that the Akure-based team sustain their elite status in the Nigerian Premier Football League league.
The Association commended the efforts of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye for repositioning the team back to glory.
Also appreciated are the officials that started the season with the team and were later redeployed to the Football Agency.
The State SWAN also thumbs up to all football stakeholders, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the darling team of the people of Ondo State maintain a reasonable showing all through.
The body, however, appealed to the sports ministry/ODSFA management to begin preparations in earnest for the new football season to avoid any late drama in the coming season.
Sunshine Stars finished 10th on the NPFL log with 52 points after losing away 2-1 on their final game against Niger tornadoes.
