Ondo State commissioner for Sports and youth development Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa says all plans to have a befitting stadium for the state have been put in place.

Mr Ologunloluwa stated this during a Media paerly with members of the sports writers association of Nigeria SWAN Ondo state chapter in Akure.

Mr Ologunloluwa said Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is interested in the redesign and rehabilitation of the old stadium to accommodate more fans,car park and a standard pitch to host matches.

The commissioner said although funding is a major factor for the quick implementation of the work,but called on companies and individuals with interest in sports to partner the state government in having a standard Stadium.

Speaking on the development in the camp of the state owned football clubs Mr Ologunloluwa said Sunshine stars and sunshine queens have been motivated,bonuses,new hostel for Sunshine queens and allowances paid up to date to further inspired the players.

He further gave an assurance that Sunshine stars football club against all odds will do well in the super six billed for Lagos while sunshine queens is expected to pick a ticket for a return to the Nigeria women League in a tournament billed for next month following their relegation last season.

On the achievement made by the Rope skipping association in the state,Mr Ologunloluwa congratulated the two Guineas record holders Gbenga Ezekiel and Philip solomon alongside their technical team and pledged more support for the association.

The sports commissioner hinted SWAN members that a sports trust fund would soon be initiated to help in raising funds for overall sports development in Ondo state with an intention to carter for all sports.

Among those who graced the occasion included the general manager Ondo state sports Council Mr Henry Babatunde and other directors in the ministry of youth and sports development.
